Lakkhichele released on the OTT platform Must Watch Story of Courage and Belief

Pubnews: Lakkhichele released on the OTT platform Must Watch Story of Courage and Belief. “Lakkhichele,” originally slated for an August 2022 release, marked a significant milestone in Tollywood as director Kaushik Gangopadhyay directed his son, Ujan Gangopadhyay, for the first time. Produced by Windows, the film explores the intriguing consequences of upholding one’s principles in a superstitious society marred by divisions among its people. Kaushik masterfully conveyed this theme in the film ‘Lakkhichele.’ If you missed the chance to witness this thought-provoking movie in theaters last year, here’s exciting news: ‘Lakkhichele’ is set to make its debut on an OTT platform.

You can catch ‘lakkhichele’ on SonyLiv starting September 8th. Director Shivprasad Mukhopadhyay had shared this delightful news a few days ago. This time, Churni Gangopadhyay, a prominent member of the team, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “It’s wonderful news that a nationally acclaimed film is making its way to the OTT platform. When ‘lakkhichele’ was initially released, we received an overwhelmingly positive response from various parts of the country. But for those who missed it, there’s no reason to fret this time. I hope Ritika, Purab, Ujaan, and the entire team reach new audiences across the country, just as they did earlier.”

For the first time in Tollywood, the Gangopadhyay family came together in a family-oriented film. Ujan shared the screen with his onscreen mother, Chunni Gangopadhyay, while Kaushik Gangopadhyay took the directorial reins. Chunni is delighted that the film will be accessible to a broader audience through the OTT platform.

So, what’s the story all about? The birth of a four-armed girl child in Hingalganj stirred a commotion in the surrounding villages, to the extent that villagers avoided passing by that house. The lower caste members regarded her existence as a curse. In the midst of this turmoil, a quadrilateral girl named ‘Lakshmi’ was born. Dadu, the village head, saw an opportunity in Lakshmi, and she became a source of revenue for the village officials. The village’s cashbox began to fill up with contributions from devotees who sought blessings from ‘Lakshmi,’ and her presence became pivotal during elections. However, the competition among three junior doctors brought about unforeseen consequences. One of these doctors, Amir Hussain, a Muslim youth, displayed remarkable courage in saving a girl who was worshipped as a Hindu goddess. Witness this gripping story unfold on the SonyLiv screen.
