Pubnews:  MediaTek 5G brings a new processor for you, which has 200MP camera support. Taiwan-based technology company MediaTek has unveiled a new processor, the Dimension 7200, as part of its efforts to expand its chipset lineup. The mid-range chip is designed with a focus on gaming and photography, two key features that are highly valued by smartphone users today.

The Dimensity 7200 chipset is manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) using the N4P process. It is equipped with two Cortex A715 cores and six Cortex-A510 cores, with a high frequency of 2.8 GHz. Additionally, it features a Mali G610 MC4 GPU for visual handling and supports full-HD display up to 144Hz with HDR10+, CUVA HDR, and Dolby HDR.

The chipset also comes with MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0, which enables artificial intelligence (AI)-based variable-rate shading and supports UFS 3.1 storage for faster loading. It supports RAM up to 6,400 Mbps (LPDDR5). For photography, the chipset uses a 14-bit HDR ISP with support for 4K HDR video capture. It can handle up to 200-megapixel resolution for the primary camera and is capable of receiving two video streams at full HD resolution separately.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 is also equipped with an APU, which allows several AI-powered camera enhancements such as real-time portrait beautification. The chipset supports 5G sub-6GHz with 2CC carrier aggregation, dual SIM 5G, triband Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and up to 4.7GB per second downlink.

Although the chipset is expected to be available in mid-range smartphones in the first quarter of this year, no smartphone brand has yet announced any plans to launch phones featuring the new processor. We’ll have to wait a few more weeks to find out which mobile device will be the first to use this new processor.
