At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, a grand event was held before the crucial India-Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy match, where the Prime Ministers of both countries, Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese, were present. The occasion was the celebration of 75 years of cricketing friendship between India and Australia.
The stadium was decorated with huge banners featuring the Prime Ministers, along with Indian cricketers, and traditional dance performances were taking place. The Prime Ministers presented caps to the captains of both teams, followed by a photo session, during which the crowd erupted in chants of ‘Modi-Modi’. Afterward, both Prime Ministers toured the stadium in decorated cars and shook hands with all the cricketers on the ground. Special mementos were presented to the Prime Ministers, and an exhibition was organized to commemorate the 75 years of cricketing friendship.
As for the match, India’s captain Rohit Sharma lost the toss, and Australia decided to bat first. The Indian team made only one change, with Mohammed Shami replacing Mohammed Siraj.
