Pubnews: Facebook-Instagram will protect teenagers. According to a recent study, the risk of cyberbullying is increasing at an alarming rate in the world. Most of the victims are women and minors. This crime is mostly committed through social media Facebook and Instagram. It is known that about 87 percent of cyberbullying happens on Facebook. So Facebook and Instagram have brought new privacy updates to protect minors.

Meta, owned by the two companies, said the new privacy feature would protect minors. From now on, teenagers under the age of 16 will have the ‘by default’ privacy settings set when they open an account on Facebook or Instagram. Who can see their friend list, who can see the list of people they follow, who can see the list of pages, and who can tag, these will be determined in advance by Meta.

Meta said it will remove the ‘message’ button from teenagers’ accounts in the coming days. As a result, any adults who are not added to the friend list will not have a chance to disturb them.

The idea is that the new privacy tool will protect users from cyberbullying, while also helping them connect with peers across age groups.
