Omnivision has launched a 200-megapixel camera sensor that captures great images even in low light
Pubnews: Omnivision has launched a 200 Megapixel camera sensor to beat Samsung. The name of this new image sensor is OVB0A. It comes with several upgrades over its predecessor. The company claims that the Omnivision 200MP sensor will offer a class-leading resolution, advanced autofocus, and excellent low-light performance.
Note that Omnivision is now Samsung’s biggest competitor in the image sensor market. There is no doubt that this new 200MP OVB0A will further increase the company’s market share. The size of this premium sensor is 1/1.395 inches, which is slightly smaller than its predecessor.
Not only that, the Omnivision 200-megapixel camera sensor is the smallest pixel (0.56 micrometer) in mobile imaging technology. It will offer 100 percent quad face detection.
The company has informed that the Omnivision 200-megapixel camera sensor will be available from the fourth quarter of this year. However, it is not yet known which phone will use this sensor. But expect brands like Motorola, and Infinix to announce their mid-range phones with this new image sensor soon.
