Twitter threatened to be kicked out of App Store
Pubnews: Twitter threatened to be kicked out of App Store. Apple has threatened to remove Twitter from its App Store, Elon Musk has said. But Apple did not mention any reason for this. On Monday (November 28), the new owner of Twitter Musk also said that Apple has also stopped advertising on social media. In addition, Apple is pressuring Twitter to implement content control rules.
But this is not unusual for the company. Because the company regularly enforces its content control policies. Earlier, Apple removed apps like Gab and Parlor from their App Store.
In another Twitter post on Monday, Musk wrote, ‘Apple has almost stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?’
Musk later tweeted another tweet, tagging Apple CEO Tim Cook’s Twitter account. Musk wrote there, ‘What’s going on here?’
According to data from Pathmatics, a company that calculates the amount of advertising, Apple spent $131,600 on Twitter advertising from November 10 to November 16, which is $220,800 less than it spent on advertising from October 16 to October 22. Apple was the top advertiser on Twitter in the first three months of 2022, according to a Washington Post report on an internal Twitter document. During that time, the company spent $48 million on advertising, which was more than 4 percent of the company’s total revenue at the time.
Note that almost 90 percent of Twitter’s revenue comes from advertising.
