Vivo has officially revealed the launch date for Vivo Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 in India. This much-anticipated OS update, based on Android 14, will be made accessible to users of Vivo and iQoo devices in India starting from October 7th at 12 noon. This announcement comes shortly after Vivo initiated a preview program for Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 for the X90 Pro.

While the specifics of the improvements and changes in Funtouch OS 14 have not been disclosed, Vivo has assured users of a seamless and enhanced user experience. Notably, the list of eligible smartphones to receive the update remains undisclosed.
Through a recent post on the X social media platform (formerly known as Twitter), Vivo confirmed the impending launch of the Funtouch OS 14 update, built on Android 14, in India on October 7th. The rollout of this OS update will commence at 12 p.m. IST and will be available to qualifying Vivo and iQoo device owners. Nevertheless, details concerning which Vivo smartphones will receive the update have not yet been disclosed, and information regarding the specific changes and enhancements introduced in Funtouch OS 14 is eagerly awaited.
In response to inquiries about the update’s release, Vivo mentioned that eligible users will automatically receive a notification on their devices once the update becomes available for their specific handset. Additional details regarding the update are expected to be unveiled on October 7th.
Meanwhile, in September, OnePlus also announced Open Beta 2 for Android 14-based OxygenOS 14, offering support for various compatible devices. OnePlus introduced the Trinity Engine within this OS update, designed to manage demanding tasks such as multitasking, resource-intensive operations, and extended device usage. Additionally, for enhanced security, OxygenOS 14 incorporates the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)-based Device Security Engine 3.0.
The rollout of the OxygenOS 14 update is scheduled to commence in October for select smartphones, with others receiving it in November. OnePlus 11 5G is slated to be the flagship model to receive the stable OxygenOS 14 update.
