Yamaha, the Japanese bike manufacturer, has recently launched updated versions of their best motorcycles, including their most expensive model, the R15M, which is also their most popular. While the R15M boasts exceptional performance and eye-catching design, it faces stiff competition from the KTM RC 125 in the Indian market. In this report, we will compare the two bikes.

Looks and Design:

Both models have designs that are similar to their larger counterparts. The R15M has a full fairing that looks almost exactly like the R6, while the RC 125 is a smaller version of the RC 390.

Engine Specifications:

The RC 125 has a 124.9 cc single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling technology. It can produce a maximum power of 14.3 bhp at 9,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 12 Nm at 8,000 rpm with a six-speed gearbox. The Yamaha R15M has a SOHC engine with four valves and liquid cooling technology, which features VVA technology. It produces 18.14 bhp of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm with a five-speed gearbox. It also has a quick shifter available.

Features:

The Yamaha R15M boasts a TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, traction control, LED headlamps and taillamps, and LED DRLs. It also has two types of riding modes, street, and track. In contrast, the KTM RC 125 comes with an LCD instrument cluster, LED taillamps, and halogen headlamps.

Price:

The KTM RC 125 is priced at Tk 1.87 lakh ex-showroom, while the R15M costs Rs 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering the features and power, it is wise to buy the Yamaha R15M if your budget is less than two lakhs.
